hogwarts (1995-1997)  _{set between Daphne's 5th and 6th year. The Ice Princess of Slytherin, Daphne spends most of this verse as the stereotypical slytherin. She is cold, rude, and judgemental. While she does not bully the way some of the other’s in her house do, Daphne has no problem with lashing out if she hears someone talking bad about a member of her house. She is loyal to those in Slytherin even if she might not consider any of them close friends.}

second wizarding world.  _{Set during Daphne's 7th year and going into the battle of hogwarts. Daphne is given the title of head girl, and spends the year doing everything she can to help others from getting hurt. This verse is extremely selective and is very trigger heavy. Verse includes torture and death.}

eighth year.  _{Set during the school year of 1998 - 1999. Daphne returns to Hogwarts for her 8th year as what should have been her seventh year was interrupted by the chaos of war. While she had spent the better part of the previous year trying to help out, not everyone knows this. She keeps to herself for most of the year, just wanting to pass her NEWTs.}

post war.  _{After graduating with 6 NEWTs, Daphne applied to the healer program at St. Mungos. While there are those that look down on her because of the decisions her father has made, she is accepted because of her NEWT scores alone. This verse focuses on her becoming a healer, learning to change the mindset she had been taught growing up, and branching out to friends she had never considered while in school.}

war wages on.  _{Voldemort doesn't die during the battle of Hogwarts, instead getting away. The war continues and Daphne ends up becoming a healer for the order of the phoenix once she makes the decision to think for herself and stop following her father's plan}

voldemort wins.  _{as a pureblood female, Daphne is able to exist in society without too much trauma. her father becomes a full fledged death eater and she is prepared to be married off to someone as a way to continue the pureblooded blood lines.}

modern.  _{daphne is a member of high society, will expand more at somepoint.}

_{divination is her best subject. She gets why people crack jokes but she has a talent for it. The greengrass family has seers in it and daphne’s middle name, cassandra, comes from greek mythology of a princess who was given the gift of prophecy but was cursed with knowing no one would believe her prophecies.}

_{daphne's mother had postpartum depression after giving birth to her, which lead to an avoidant attachment forming between the two. Her mother has a hard time looking at daphne and seeing her child which lead to Daphne clinging to her father for love and approval. Her father only cared about who she would marry and got it into her head at a young age that nothing was more important than her future marriage. That it would need to be with a rich, pureblooded male.}

_{generally (unless this contradicts with someone else i'm writing with), daphne was given the position of headgirl during her first run of her seventh year. Snape knew he had to give the position to someone in his house, and daphne ended up with that honor. She spends most of her seventh year trying to provide supplies to the DA, trying to help prevent the younger students from getting hurt and in the end, fighting against the death eaters during the battle of hogwarts.}

_{while daphne returns to repeat her seventh year, she does not - nor was she expecting - to get head girl again. She knows that the first time never shouldve happened but she is thankful as it helped her grow.}

_{before seventh year, daphne had a hard time making friends. Mostly because she just didn’t want to. She would speak to the others in slytherin, as well as making civil talk with those in other houses who are considered acceptable. Seventh year is when she finally tries to build relationships that can be considered more than just connections.}

_{even though her future had never had a career in it, between her sixth year and the end of the war, daphne decides that she has a talent for healing and that it is something she would like to grow and focus in. everyone she cares about is messed up by the end of the war - not just physically but also mentally. The wizarding world doesnt have much in terms of mental healing before the war but after, there are too many people struggling with depression and PTSD to not look into this branch of healing. This ends up being daphne's calling.}

_{daphne doesn't wear pants. Ever. it's skirts or dresses. While part of this tends to be with how she was raised, a proper pureblood would never wear slacks, even once she grows out of that mindset, she sticks to dresses and skirts. It’s what she prefers and what she is comfortable in. this is her choice.}
